Design: A vintage Japanese Fukuro silk obi panel with hand embroidered details of a botanicals using elegant metallic gold threading is centred against a rich orange dupioni silk. With a backing in solid orange silk, this pillow cover is completed with knife edge construction, double stitched seams and an invisible bottom zipper for a tailored finish.

Textile Origin: The Fukuro obi introduced in the 1920's is a formal obi worn for ceremonies and elaborate celebrations. Made of silk or brocade, the Fukuro obi is most commonly tied in an elaborate Taiko knot worn today on the back, but can be adjusted into various styles.
