Mexican Hand Embroidered Otomi Pillow Cover with a Pair of Deer in Indigo

Tamarind Living

Design: This fabulous pillow features hand-stitched Tenango embroidery by the Otomi women of Mexico with a whimsical nature scene of a pair of deer dancing in a field of flowers in crisp indigo blue against off-white cotton muslin. The pillow cover is backed in a solid linen with a hidden bottom zipper. Knife edge finish and double stitched seams are added for durability and a tailored finish.

Textile Origin: Tenango embroidery can be traced to the Pre-Aztec Meso American period with designs inspired by pre-historic wall paintings reflecting the traditions and beliefs of the Otomi people living in harmony with nature. Our Otomi textiles are hand selected from our fair trade suppliers providing sustainable income for the Otomi women in this region, while cultivating and preserving their craft. This colourful deer pattern will give your room the perfect punch of colour.
